Pritchard on Courtside Tonight
posted: 8/23/2007 at 8:55 AM

It's our last show before a two-week break, so we thought we'd get the general manager back on the program to kind of wrap up the summer. As you know, it's been quite the off-season in Blazerville.

Tonight, Kevin Pritchard will be our guest on Trail Blazers Courtside, beginning at 6pm on KXL-AM 750 in the Portland area. If you're outside the listening area, you can listen live by clicking on the Courtside link at the top-right of this page.

I was running out of photos of KP that I haven't used on the blog this summer, so I went for the dunk-tank shot. Our company picnic is coming up, and this was a scene from last year's event. It was Nate McMillan, by the way, who put Kevin in the icy waters.

If you have questions you'd like us to ask Pritchard tonight, you can e-mail them to courtside@trailblazers.com. I'll get to as many as I can. We're going to try and keep him for a couple of segments.

This weekend the players will start arriving back into town. Greg Oden is expected to get here Sunday, Brandon Roy is already back, and I believe LaMarcus Aldridge is as well. It was Roy who made the request that the team get back into town over a month early, so they could start preparing. It's not likely the entire team will show as early as next week, but it'll be interesting to see who is able to make it. Steve Blake, James Jones, and several others have been here for several weeks.

I'll be out at the Blazers practice facility on Monday, and we're going to shoot some interviews for you, and they will be available on the site hopefully by Monday evening. If you miss the interview with Pritchard tonight, check back here later and I'll post a link to it.

Hey Mike,

I was wondering if you heard anything about how Frye played in Las Vegas last week against the US team. I JV team gave them a hard and close couple games... but there were not really any good recaps of how players played.

I wish the season started next week... thanks for all your hard work this summer.

David,

From what Kevin said last week, Channing more than held his own. He was guarding Dwight Howard and Amare Stoudemire most of the time, playing the 5 spot. I think our guys had wondered about his ability to play some center, and I think that question was answered. He also was able to drag the bigger players outside with his ability to hit from the perimeter on offense.
I get Kevin to talk more about that tonight.
